“I’ve never had a humble opinion. If you’ve got an opinion, why be humble about it?”
—
Joan Baez
I’m humble about all my opinions. I’m the most humble mother-fucker there is!
A post on illegal immigration? You bet I wanna take a look at it. let’s do that.
I’m once again going to cover a very VERY VERY controversial topic. I’m going to blog on illegal immigration. I hope you can read this (if you intend to) and not confuse me with a racist American.
The fact that you think your position allows you to be easily confused with a racist makes me already kinda suspicious. Although I’d make a point that we live in a racist culture and every single one of us in it has had that racism rub off on us at least a little bit. It’s pretty unavoidable.
Breaking the law is wrong, justice should be served to people who do not want to fall in line.
Wait what? Breaking the law is wrong? Law is a man-made construct. Create your own moral theory, but be consistent about it. If you say that following the law is moral, then your behavior must change based on what the laws are. It simply isn’t firm ground for a moral system.
I believe that there are good people both citizen and illegal residents of America, who just want to be free, contribute to society, and live a full filled life. That is good, but I also believe there are bad people both citizen and illegal who do not contribute to society, are very selfish, and suck the money from our government and good people. These people should be served justice.
I’ve read through this. You never defined justice. Therefore what you just said is pretty much absolutely meaningless. Does Justice mean that the person who caused damage repairs that damage? Does Justice mean that the person who commits the damage be tortured publicly and killed as it was for much of European history? Does Justice mean that people should who cause harm should be thrown in a prison? Define your terms, man. What you are saying simply isn’t clear.
I also believe we should have an organized system for people that wish to become American citizens; however, a strict system I do not believe in. I propose that we lower the cost of buying a green card, and allow some sort of grace period for people in the waiting lines to get a green card. We should even allow some sort of incentive for people that apply for there green card. That way more immigrants would want to become citizens.
I believe these controversial laws are some what good, we need to serve justice to those who break the law.
But can we really punish people who don’t even get the opportunity to obey the law?
No, and that is wrong. I leave it up to you to decide whats right and wrong, this should never be about race and I am ashamed at the law makers and victims who have turned this into a race war.
Okay. I’d agree that adding those innovations is an improvement on our current system in the United States, but why not take it a step further? Why not start to question that these small little collections of power can make decisions about where people can and cannot travel and then use force to put said decisions into actions? Why not question concentrated political power to at least the same degree, if not a higher one, that we question those with very little power (speaking of the illegal immigrants)?
The leaves are changing colors, falling down
The air is thick with memories, taking people back
While the news is fresh with blood-stained headlines
The U.S. troops just launched a new offensive in Iraq
Some sensors are talking about the border
Plotting the plans for a 2,000 mile wall
Developers are scheming in New Orleans
Wondering how they can turn some profits from it all
And it’s such a sad time to be living
Though everytime before seems just as sad as this
It reminds me to be positive and constant
To fight not just for what does but for what could exist
Be creative.
There’s always gonna be someone planning wars for profit
The ideal society is one that can refuse
And though there’s power in the the gun and in the bullet
There’s more power in the hands of those who build the things we use
And the power held by greed is based on trust
As you can only be as powerful as people let you be
And the world that they create is always shifting
Cuz there’s only so many tricks that you can cram into one sleeve
Yeah it’s such a sensitive situation
And everything is fragile, and we’re always on the brink
It seems to me it’s all held up by weak strings
And it seems to me we’re closer than we think
Remember that.
Every war’s been met by opposition
And every culture based on greed has suffered from the same
Our history is littered with destruction
But we hold our heads up high for those who fought before we came
We’re following the steps of many people
And no one knows just how long it’ll take
And it’s a long, long road that we are walking
And we are building it together, with every move we make
And we know that every end’s a new beginning
And we keep on for the hope there’ll be some answers we will find
And it’s sad and it is strange, but it’s relieving
Because it’s better than just sitting back and watching worlds collide
Just give it time.
THIS IS SO RELEVANT. I want to relive the moment when I first read Deathly Hallows. Or any of the HP books for that matter. Especially when I read “The Prince’s Tale” chapter!
I actually disagree with this. I find books more enjoyable the 2nd or 3rd time reading them. I pick up on details that I missed the first time around, get a much better understanding of what the author was saying, &c.
It’s just trashy. I should just leave it at that.
And why do you think that?
I wish my cuts would heal, so I wouldn’t my nomadic little razor wouldn’t have to continue moving farther up & down my leg.
Until then, I think a trip to Lowes is in order for some legitimate rectangular razors. No more of this pussyass disassembled Mach3 shit. Taking care of business. Something beautiful that will remind me of life in general. And what a massive shit hole is.
And how I’d fall to my knees and beg to the skies for the courage to just end it, or to simply pass in my sleep; unimaginable. But they’d fall on non-existent ears. My life is in my own hands, and that’s not something I want the responsibility of holding.
If there is a Christ, I’ll stand naked at the pearly gates and declare “This is what YOU made me. You and YOUR CREATIONS. I’ll gladly accept an eternity in hellfire than ever thank you for the opportunity at ‘life’ or apologize for the piss poor example of one I’ve lead. I’ve failed your tests, and it’s because YOU were the teacher.”
I disagree. A relationship is for however many people those involved in the relationship agree to have in the relationship. o.O
